I don't think you understand the extent to which you broke my heart. I want you to be truly happy, But never imagined that happiness might not include me. You take with you my youth, My innocence, and my faith. And leave me with my pain, fear, and doubt. My memories, like the sun, are beautiful and warm, Until I look too long, leaving me blind and burned, So now I loathe the sun and seek to snuff out all its light From my life, To languish, lonely in the dark, Yet never will you understand the extent to which you broke my heart.

I have fallen and my life has shattered into a million pieces on the floor I picked the pieces up, as if it mattered I can't remember what this life is for. Am I to remain apart forever? Things aren't at all the way they were before. I tried to put the pieces back together, But I don't know how they fit anymore.

I can see the coming rain; It has followed me once more. It takes no notice of my pain, Nor has it ever cared before. Can it be the heavens mourn for me; Can they not see me cry? No, I think they cannot see Yet drown my tears not knowing why. “Cry, cry!” I hear voices say, “For the world is Cold; If you do not die today Then you will just grow old!” I cannot hear them when it rains; The rain drowns the voices out. Still, My horrid ear it strains, So the voices soon will shout: “Cry, cry! You wretched fool, For someday you will die Knowing that the world is cruel, Yet will never have learned why!”

Each day that wanes is creeping Inside, my hope is gone. My one respite is sleeping, Yet still I dread the dawn. My soul is growing weary, From these pills that I am on, The nights are cold and eerie, Yet Still I dread the dawn. Each day goes by so quickly, My memory has gone And I’ve grown old and sickly Yet still, I dread the dawn. The world is filled with sorrow, and still I carry on, And will again tomorrow, For still, I dread the dawn.
